The traveling exhibition "I Love Sushi" organized by the Japan International Exchange Foundation and the Consulate General of Japan in Hong Kong will be held at the exhibition hall on the 7th floor of the High Block of the Hong Kong City Hall from November 7 to 26. Admission is free. Through the exhibition, a total of 50 sushi-related exhibits introduce the public to this Japanese cuisine that is widely loved by people from all over the world.
In 2013, "Washoku - the traditional food culture of the Japanese people" was registered as a "World Intangible Cultural Heritage" designated by UNESCO. Sushi is the most representative Japanese food. Today, the name "SUSHI" is widely popular and favored all over the world for its delicious, beautiful, exquisite and healthy food.This exhibition is divided into three chapters: "Introduction to Sushi", "Sushi in the Edo Period" and "Modern Sushi", leading everyone to explore how ancient sushi took root in Japan, how it changed according to the natural culture and living habits of various places, and how it is today. How the sushi culture develops, as well as future dietary issues and possibilities. The exhibition displays simulated sushi models, Ukiyoe reproductions, and sushi vendors that recreate the Edo period. It also has a simulated experience area of a Tokyo sushi restaurant, which is full of fun, whether you are a sushi expert or someone who doesn’t know much about sushi. People of all ages can enjoy this exhibition.
